Festival Tents
Festival Tents are the tent that adds a touch of fun to any event. With 50% less parts this tent goes up easily and quickly. These impressive tents are engineered to withstand 85 mph winds. Festivals can be installed together to create a visually interesting array of peaks or as a single tent to create a modern futuristic feel.
Push Pole Tents
Push pole tents, with their high peaks and dramatically sweeping slopes, are the tents that most resemble the traditional circus tent. These tents have large vertical center poles that run down the middle of the tent in 20' increments. The ends of the tent are rounded and the tent top sides are gracefully scalloped.
Structural (Clear Span) Tents
Structural clear span tents are extremely weather resistant and are most often used for large events and long term applications. With no center poles, a side height of up to 16' and a peak height from 22 to 32 feet, the structural clear span tent creates an impressive and secure environment.
Tension Tents
Tension tents are a visually stunning tent with high sculpted peaks and graceful lines. The large interior of the tent has a unique ceiling with dramatic peaks and swooping curves. Big Top Rentals will be providing rental equipment and services to the Kathleen E. Faley Memorial Special Games to be held Friday, May 4, 2012. Approximately 2,500 special athletes from throughout the county will be the sports stars at the 27th annual event. The event will be held on the practice fields north of Titan Gymnasium.
Opening ceremonies begin at 9:30 a.m. with master of ceremonies Ed Arnold, host of PBS SoCal’s “Real Orange” program. The visiting athletes will take part in a variety of noncompetitive athletic events, including football and basketball toss, T-ball, soccer goal kicks and a 50-yard dash.
The daylong festivities include a barbecue lunch for the athletes and volunteers, visits by theme park characters, clowns, live music and plenty of support from more than 4,000 high school volunteers. All of the athletes receive a commemorative award ribbon and certificate of attendance, in recognition of their efforts.
The Cal State Fullerton Special Games-Kathleen Faley Memorial was launched in 1986 as a CSUF class project. Two years later, the games were dedicated to the memory of Kathleen E. Faley, an alumna who died in a car accident in 1987. She was the sister of event co-organizer Dan Faley and among the inaugural core group of Special Games volunteers. To this day, her family remains involved in the event’s planning and organization.
